Scholarship Program Advisory Committee

Welcome to the Scholarship Program Toolkit created by NSPA members for scholarship professionals working in colleges and universities, foundations, and non-profit organizations! This toolkit was developed in response to the routine requests of the NSPA for such information and the fact that there was not already an authoritative, comprehensive guide for scholarship program development. Made possible by a Public Benefit Grant from TG, this online, searchable toolkit is a compilation of scholarship program components for those interested in creating or enhancing a scholarship program or organization. We expect that users of this toolkit will want to go directly to the content area in which they are interested; therefore, users should cross – reference the articles and follow links to find their desired content.

The toolkit is available for FREE to all NSPA members! Click the grey tabs above to get started. If you are not logged in, you will need to do so to access the content.

The content of the toolkit was guided by the Scholarship Program Toolkit Advisory Committee comprised of a representative sample of NSPA members, and extensive review was conducted by the Advisory Committee. The advisory committee would like to acknowledge the contributions made to the toolkit by several individuals.

We offer our sincere thanks to NSPA members and non-members in Milwaukee and Chicago who came together in “focus groups” to help us determine what type of scholarship programmatic information they were interested in and how we should best market the toolkit to NSPA members. We are also grateful to Kimberly Stezala of Stezala Consulting and author of Scholarships 101: The Real-World Guide to Getting Cash for College. Ms. Stezala was the lead architect of the project and contributed substantially to the content of the toolkit. Marjorie Pagel did an expert job of editing the toolkit. Sean Fitzpatrick of LIS Host has designed, built the HTML framework, and indexed the toolkit.

We hope that the toolkit will help scholarship programs and organizations use your scholarship funds strategically to help your scholars gain access to, and have choice and success in, higher education. The ideas and practices in the Toolkit are intended for you to use in your own programs or organizations. Please borrow ideas and implement practices!  Should you want to reprint any copy written information, please contact the NSPA and they will put you in touch with the author for permission.
