Scholarship America Announces New Trustee

MINNEAPOLIS (August 13, 2019) – Scholarship America®, the nation’s leading nonprofit scholarship and educational support organization, is pleased to announce Treasa Bowers, vice president of Human Resources and HR Operations for 7-Eleven, Inc. (SEI) in Dallas, has been elected to its Board of Trustees.

“I am pleased to welcome Treasa Bowers back to serve on our board again,” said Robert C. Ballard, president and CEO of Scholarship America. “She was previously a Scholarship America trustee from Oct. 2007 to July 2011 and served as a chair and member on several key committees. She brings exceptional expertise in education, human resources and nonprofit sectors, as well as commitment to supporting students in achieving their educational dreams.”

At 7-Eleven, Inc. she leads the Human Resources Business Partner support for the Chief Operating Officer’s organization (U.S. and Canada), Human Resources Shared Services, Human Resources Information Technology, Diversity and Inclusion and Employee Relations. 7-Eleven, Inc. (SEI) is the world’s largest convenience store retailer. Bowers began her career at SEI in operations as a management trainee in Salt Lake City, Utah.

   

Bowers is an active volunteer, having served as a member of the Carr P. Collins Center Advisory Council for the Salvation Army. She previously served as an officer of the United Service Organization, Chair of Camden Diocese Catholic Schools-Board of Limited Jurisdiction, Administrator of St. Jude Church and Chair of Family Services.

Bowers holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and certifications from the Human Resources Institute, Society for Human Resources and American Society for Training and Development.
