Bellevue University’s Scholarships & Grants Dept. Hosts FAFSA Completion Night

Wednesday, July 17, 2019

In February, during National Financial Aid Awareness Month, Bellevue University’s Scholarships & Grants Department co-hosted a FAFSA completion night in conjunction with EducationQuest Foundation.  EducationQuest Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve access to higher education in the State of Nebraska.

Set up as an open house style event, students (and parents) had the opportunity to drop-in anytime during the event to meet with representatives from EducationQuest Foundation to assist them in beginning and/or completing their 2019-2020 FAFSA applications.  Upon registration for the event, students were provided a “to-do” list in order to be prepared to complete their FAFSA, which included a checklist of what to bring and how to set up their FSA ID in advance.

This purpose of the event was to raise awareness of federal financial aid for college and to increase FASFA completion rates among students.  The event was publicizes through the university’s enrollment office and advising departments to reach out to both prospective and continuing students.  Dinner was also provided to all attendees, since the event took place in the evening.
