Title:

Legal Fundamentals for Scholarship Providers

Presenter:

Karen Leaffer, Attorney, Leaffer Law Group

Cost:

Free to NSPA members. $35 for non-members.

Description:

This webinar will tackle important but often overlooked legal questions that apply to your scholarship program. If you’re still getting familiar with the legal and tax requirements or you simply need a refresher, this webinar will help you. Karen Leaffer, an attorney and scholarship legal expert will answer the following and other basic but fundamental legal/tax questions during the presentation: What are the limits around donor participation in the selection process? Is the scholarship taxable to the recipient? Do you have to report the scholarship to the IRS? Must you have a scholarship plan? What about record-keeping?

This webinar will be a repeat of the information Karen presented at the NSPA Conference and is intended for those who were not able to attend her session in person.
