Title: Connecting Credentials: The Brave New World of Competencies and Credentials

Stephanie leads CSW’s Connecting Credentials campaign, which focuses on building a well-functioning and sustainable credentialing ecosystem that is in sync with the needs of 21stcentury learners, educators, employers and the economy. Stephanie also supports CSW’s youth-focused projects, particularly those focused on opportunity youth. Stephanie has extensive knowledge of education and youth development policy and practice, as well as over a decade of experience in educational and nonprofit leadership, locally and nationally, primarily focused on underserved and underrepresented populations and learner-centered approaches like competency-based education.
This webinar will provide an overview of the Lumina-funded Connecting Credentials initiative, including the national campaign underway and a specific tool for assessing competency – the Beta Credentials Framework. Information on partner initiatives and specific ways members can get involved will also be showcased. During this webinar, participants will be provided some real-time updates on how credentialing is changing and evolving in the U.S. Participants will have opportunities to ask the presenters questions about alternative and new forms of credentials and learning.
